It's Sunday night…we’re home after one of the best weekends in
recent memory. With the exception of an incident last night with the dog, I can
say that Saturday was one of the most relaxing days we’ve had in…umm…about a
year. We woke up and make breakfast (pancakes with fresh blueberries, yummy), I
read in the hammock for a bit, and then we loaded up our sunscreen and coolers and
headed to the lake with friends. (
Today we went to the ‘boro to see D’s family- the human part
of our family spent an enjoyable day hanging out on the patio drinking
appletinis, while the canine faction spent an enjoyable day getting petted and
overfed.
It’s back to work tomorrow. Yuck. I could get used to having time to myself.
Ps- Last night while I was taking care of Max, To Won Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar was on Bravo. What an amusing and far-fetched movie that is. Extra kitsch points to the filmmakers for the Spartacus-esque “I’m a drag queen” scene. And any of the podunk townspeople who couldn’t tell that Wesley Snipes was packing more into his dress than orange marabou feathers were obviously a *tad* on the inbred side.
psss- Cecily alerted me to this story about what Christian essayists have to say about zombie movies. Interesting.
Currently Listening
To: Nothing, but I have “Switch” by Will Smith stuck in my head. They must
have played it 912 times on XM today.
Quote OTD: From
the aforementioned extremely long-titled drag queen movie:
Vida Boheme:
I feel like Miss Jayne Mansfield in this car.
Noxeema Jackson: Oooh,
Jayne Mansfield. Not a very good auto reference.
You know, the Christian zombie article really had a lot of good points.
