I walked outside on this beautiful June day with my iPod
blaring “Don’t Fear the Reaper” into my ears. The pollen count was high and I
began to sneeze, and then cough. Nothing worse
than a summer cold, I though. These three things: summer, sneezing, and
Blue Oyster Cult sent me into a rush to get home and flop down in the hammock
with one fantastic novel. Anyone know
what it is? HINT: It is where I got part of my blog's name.
The specific (and awesomely gigantic) copy of this novel was given to me as a graduation present by a good friend. If you’re reading this, thanks again! Hopefully I’m still not as big a bitch as Rita!
I’ll elaborate on this tomorrow- I could talk forever about this book. I have to go read some more before bed... this is easily my ninth time through this 1,152 page masterpiece, and it is just as good now as it was back in 1989.
Currently Listening to: Don't Dream It's Over, by Crowded House
Quote OTD: I don't want to give it away (although I'm sure you all know the answer), so we'll just go with something from Don't Fear the Reaper (More COWBELL!!!):
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
