More dental work this morning. There is nothing like having the nasty taste of sealants in your mouth all day. Bleccccch. Actually, two of them are fillings, even though the doc said that the teeth didn't actually have cavities in them, just deep pocketing. So does this mean that my "no cavities" record holds, or was it broken? hmmm.
Anyway, I think it's about time to get into the spirit of the season. I've been keeping up with TomC's Horror 101 (and plan to rent several of his profiled films this afternoon), and last night I started watching the "13 Days of Halloween" on TV. Ps- I recalled "Tales from the Darkside" as being so less...shitty than they actually are!
So...here's my first related post. It isn't a movie, but a band that I used to be very into and should be much more associated with Halloween than, say, St. Patrick's Day: Skinny Puppy. SP was the first industrial band I ever listened to, waaay back in middle school and early high school.
I just found a new-ish SP video on Youtube, called Protest, that features a dance-off between some street guys and a bunch of goths. Incredible dancing, and a pretty good beat/song too.
I'm also going to add a halloween song of the day... today we have:
Spooktastic SOTD: Pet Sematary, by The Ramones. From the movie of the same name. A movie that used to scare the living hell out of me, but I watched it over and over anyway. As a bonus, here's the truly godawful video.
I love the Ramones, but the PS video is incredibly lame. I'm guessing the budget was about a hundred bucks.
Gotta Love the styrofoam tombstones. Bet they bought them at the 90% off after Halloween sale.
I do kind of miss the days though when all you had to do to make a rock video was to get a bunch of your geeky friends to come by and roam around in the background while you lip synced the song.
If you watch enough Ramones videos, you realize they had a LOT of geeky friends. Come to think of it, so do I!
